Happy 2017! Here are just a few new things we’re working on at the winery:
Game Corner – So far we’ve got Scrabble, Uno and a couple decks of cards. Okay, it’s just start. Our staff (who,by the way, are the best staff in the world) have offered to clean out their game closets and bring in more; so who knows what great games we’ll end up with. Let us know your favorite board game. If we get enough requests, we’ll consider adding it to our Game Corner.
Food – We’re mixing it up a little with our freshly baked bread selections. This week we’re trying Pretzel Bread – everything you love about a soft, doughy, salty pretzel, now in loaf form – served alongside olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We’re also working on a selection of dips (savory, spicy and sweet), and maybe some little sweet bites to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Painting Class – Thursday, February 2nd 6:30-8:30pm. Celebrate Groundhog Day by learning to paint your own masterpiece. Connie Kramer of Art Break will give friendly, no-pressure instruction–beginners are welcome and encouraged! Relax, learn, and have a great time with friends old or new. Class size is limited to 20. $40 includes all painting materials: 16 x 20 canvas, paint, palette, easel, smock. Also included is a complimentary glass of your favorite Bent Ladder hard cider and one appetizer-sized serving of cheese, bread and dipping oil. For all those romantics out there who aren’t much into Groundhog Day, this would be a fun early Valentines Day couples activity. Learn more and Register.
Tour and Sampling – Beginning Saturdays in February we’ll offer tours of the cider/wine making facility. Grab this chance for a look behind the scenes at the cider and wine making process capped off with a variety of possible samplings. We’ll vary the samplings from week to week depending on what’s happening with the ciders and wines at that time – you might be sampling the ciders currently on tap; tasting cider directly from the tanks or barrels; sipping a tank sample of one or two of the wines yet to be released; or even tasting freshly pressed apple juice. Tours will begin promptly at 5:00pm and are limited to a maximum of 20 guests. All participants must be 21 years of age or older – bring ID.
